Karl Lewis Dowhie (1964)

Karl was a gifted Artist, with creative talents displayed in many permanent public displays and enjoyed by owners of private and corporate collections of Southwest landscapes. He was a loving Husband,Father,Grandfather, Coach (AZ Jr Olympic International Championship Wrestlng Team), High School/College, and Community Educator (after achieving MFA @AZ State University), and served as the first Director Tempe Center Fine Arts established in 1981.He graduated MHS Class of 1964 and joined Air Force during draft of 1965. He was a surviving Vietnam Vet discharged with distinguished honors and is buried in AZ Vet Cemetery in 2009. He is remembered for his everlasting smile, sense of humor, warm heart and generosity. He would want us to "Dance as if no one were watching, Sing as if no one were listening, and to Live everyday as if it were your last".

He is survived by Marilyn Restaino Dowhie (spouse of 43 years) , son Michael, daughter Susan, daughter in law Melissa, grandchidren Samantha and Sabrina, Brothers Lenny (class of 1966), Allen and David (deceased in 2017).
