We called Andy "Happy Hiss".. not great rhyme but that's how we remember him. We spent some happy times riding around in his little Rambler (I think that's what it was). I remember Andy being the fastest runner in our after school football and baseball marathon games behind the Community Center by the train station. Hw was just the kind of buddy everyone associates with the good times in High School.

I am happy to say that Andy was my best friend from 6th grade through high school, and we remained friends throughout his life.
Even during the one five year period when I did not live in Metuchen, we remained in touch.
In Metuchen we got together, at my house, to shoot pool in Metuchen (anyone remember the pool hall in Metuchen, where the Blockbuster now is?), or at Montagna's, where his step-father was a bartender (we met Tom Cheche there once, and, I think, Wayne Tagliaboschi). Andy also showed up frequently to chat with me when I owned Metuchen Book Shop, from 1983-1994.
No one tried harder to succeed at life than Andy. I am proud to have known him, and to have had his friendship for so long.
