Sandy and I were very saddened to hear of Mike's passing.  We hadn't spent much time together since high school as both our paths went in seperate directions.   When we met Mike & Mary at our reunion it was like just yesterday.  Our prayers are with Mary and the family during this most difficult time.

May God comfort and give you peace.

Gary & Sandra Harris

I was saddened to hear about Mike.  He was one of my best friends in high school.  Mary and Mike met at my wedding.  Loved seeing them at our reunions and catching up.  My thoughts and prayers are with Mary and family.  Lynn M.

I was so sorry to hear about Mike.  He and his wife attended every reunion and it was always so nice to speak to them.  His accomplishments were amazing and he never mentioned them- just talked about his family and dogs.  Sympathy and condolenses to his family.

Linda and I had dinner with Mike and Mary at their home in Charleston a few years ago. I contacted him about getting together prior to a visit to see our daughter and son-in-law who was a colonel in the Marines. Neil was getting ready to retire and was serving as head of the Navy and Marine program at The Citadel, his Alma Mater, in Charleston. Mike invited us all to dinner at his home
Mike and Mary were fabulous hosts. The wives bonded, as always. Mike and I made small talk about Metuchen. Then the two Marines started sharing stories of past and current lives while I made like a fly on the wall.
What I learned from my perch and in subsequent research is that Mike was an accomplished man, but his efforts as a volunteer after retirement with projects like preserving the USS Lexington make Mike a man the members of MHS65 can call great.
